One man and his piano

This is my cover of Rob Hubbard's One Man And His Droid. Please excuse my occasionally rather poor technical skills. =)

Massive kudos to Linus Walleij for lending me his MiniDisc, and helping out with the noise reduction.

Feedback, please!

P.S. You might also want to check out Parallax for piano.

Linus - One Man And His Piano.. Congratulations on making one of the most horrible C64 covers ever.

This is one of my favorite Hubbard tunes.

But this version, being quite horrible at times, can't be improved much on i guess using only a piano, other than just fixing the off-key sounds - i don't think the original has any off-key notes.

It was a good try at that but i'd rather listen to the SID instead.

I really like this "live" recording!! Ok, the sound quality is far from top notch but that's kinda what makes it so good i.m.o. When it comes to the performance there are a few errors here and there but that's noting that bothers me. Heck, I have a hard time playing "Twinkle twinkle little star on a piano" with one hand, and even harder trying to add a single bass note here and there to the melody... but hey, I'm a guitar/bass and drums player. =)

Good job with the song!!

This is awesome. This tune is not meant to be played by human hands.

I think you did a great job, given the complexity of the piece - practice makes perfect! Just wanted to balance the negative comments on here. More!

Did you perform this in one piece, or did you use overdubs for the different voices (of the original SID)?

This is one recording. No edits or overdubs.

I got a cassette with One man and his droid for free when I bough my C64.

Doesnt sound easy on piano that one. Impressive playing :-)
